Dental Seminar in Las Vegas

I spent 3 1/2 days in Las Vegas at a dental seminar with my friend and co-worker, Elaine, taking courses, eating, a little gambling (I wound up $175 ahead) and window shopping.  Before we headed home Sunday we went to the Neon Museum of Las Vegas which is just beyond downtown and the Fremont Arts District.  During the summer there are tours only in the morning and around dusk (too hot!) and you do need to make reservations in advance.  A boneyard of Las Vegas neon sign history with several refurbished signs, but most in states of disrepair.  They provided a map of about 8 other refurbished signs that have been placed around the city so you can check those out after the tour.  Great photo ops but the tour moves very quickly and everyone else is vying to take photos.  There are photo tours which are more expensive and geared toward professional photographers, so if you take the basic tour and want to return for more photos, you can.

Two weeks ago during my visit with high school friends in the Denver area, we visited the Denver Botanical Gardens where an exhibit of Chihuly glass was integrated with the gardens.  Beautiful contrast of colors and shapes!
